Title: Math Musical

Goal: The students will utilize the flexibility of their knowledge about number sense (10, 001 – 100, 000) through a composition of a math jingle.

Covered Competencies:

  1. Visualizes numbers up to 100,000 with emphasis on numbers 10,001 – 100,000.

  2. Gives the place value and value of a digit in numbers up to 100,000.

  3. Reads and writes numbers up to hundred thousand in symbols and in words.

  4. Create a jingle with lyrics composed of strategies to easy translation of number into words and vice versa

 

Math Musical

The class will be divided into 5 groups with 6 members each.

Task: You are a chorale performing in different stages. The Department of Education wants you to compose a Math Jingle with the lyrics containing number sense (10, 001 – 100, 000), how to translate it into words and vice versa. It includes the techniques of using the place values for the better understanding of Filipino students

The students will have to:

  1. They will choose the title of their Math Jingle.

  2. The students will compose a lyrics of their Math Jingle consists of number sense. (one to two example in the lyrics) Minimum of 1 stanza with 5 sentences each.

  3. They will apply their chosen melody to their lyrics composition.

  4. Each group will perform their Math Jingle in front of the class.
