Description of the assigned teaching strategy
Reflective Teaching and Learning
It is a teaching strategy of a teacher to identify the learning of her students before, during and after the discussion. The teacher wants to identify if her students really understand and follow the discussion, it gives feedback about the overall performance of the students. This strategy also helps the teacher to identify if her teaching strategy is effective or not. Reflective Teaching and Learning is an effective strategy to assess the performance of the students as well as the teacher.
Learning Experience
The teaching strategy assigned to me was Reflective Teaching and Learning. At first, I’m anxious because this was a combination of the two methods though I’m familiar about reflective learning but I don’t know how I would use it in my demo. I made my research about the Reflective Teaching and Learning and able to understand it’s purposed. I also made my lesson plan provided with performance task. During my demo, I gave them motivational activity that would motivate them to engage in the discussion. Then I used the KWLE chart, these were the questions that the students should answer such as what I know? What I want to know? What I learned? And what I enjoyed? After my demo, I realize how much the importance of this strategy because it helps the teacher to assess the learning of her/his students before, during and after the discussion. It serves as my feedback about the performance of my students as well as how well my performance was. This KWLE chart helps the students to monitor his/her progress in the teaching and learning activity.
