Description of the assigned teaching strategy
ICT approach is a teaching strategy where educational technologies such as online videos and activities are used to create meaningful learning. There are many educational websites that teachers can used for teaching. This includes Kahoot!, Mentimeter, Padlet, Brainpop, and etc. that will surely motivate the students. On the other hand, social media such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and etc. can be also used for a better communication between teachers and students. By using this approach, students will not only understand the lessons but also enjoy learning which can lead to a better students’ performance in the class.
Learning Experience
In my demo teaching, I was assigned to use ICT approach as teaching strategy in delivering my lesson in the class. I’m very glad and happy when I knew it because I know that it will be a very engaging and enjoyable when ICT approach is used in the class. That’s why, I feel excited about it. Even though, at first, I struggled in doing my lesson plans and performance tasks, I still enjoy it and take it as a challenge because I know that I can use those things when I become a teacher in the future. And, now, I’m able to finish it which makes me proud to myself. I will make sure that I will treasure these things and will never forget it. 😊
On the other hand, in the day of my demo teaching, at first, I feel nervous and sad because technology is not too good at me. It’s because when it’s my turn, the projector seems to malfunction which caused for us to don’t start on time but thankfully, it still became okay.
In teaching the lesson, I’m very happy because I saw that my students are enjoying the online activities that I gave to them such as playing jigsaw puzzle, jumbled words, and quiz by the use of Kahoot! which they enjoy a lot. They are also amazed in using Google slides because they are able to have their own copy of lesson which they can edit and make a conversation where they can talk secretly during the class about the lesson. I’m also grateful when I’m able to read their good and positive comments about my lesson which motivates me to become more a better teacher.
Overall, for me, it is a memorable experience to have this course subject because I learned a lot such as different teaching approach or strategies that I can use when I’m going to do demo teaching as well as in future. Also, making lessons plans and performance tasks is a great way for us to practice our knowledge and skills in doing it because we know that in the future, we will make many of it. That’s why, I’m really happy and thankful that I’m able to have this kind of experience. And, I promise that I will treasure all the learnings that I gain in this course.
For our teacher Maám lovely, I’m very thankful to our teacher who is very kind and beautiful since then. I hope that we will meet her again next year and will teach more students so that many students will be more knowledgeable, inspired and motivated for learning. Lastly, I want to say goodbye and thank you ma’am for all of your efforts and patience to us. We love you, ma’am
