Changes the Material undergo
Title: “DENR officers on the GO”
Goal: The student should be able to apply their understandings about the changes in materials that are useful or harmful to our daily life and to one’s environment.
Covered Competencies:
-
describe changes in solid materials when they are bent, pressed, or cut;
-
describe changes in properties of materials when exposed to certain conditions such as temperature; and
-
distinguish if the changes in materials are useful or harmful to one’s environment.
You and your group are the Department of Environment and Natural Resources officers (DENR). The group went to a barangay to identify the environmental problems that the barangay encountered in the past year. While assessing, the group found out that there were garbage everywhere. With this, your group planned to create a program that would minimize or solve the waste problem in the barangay.
The students will have to:
-
Design a brochure that will promote the 5R’s in waste management (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repair, and Rot) to minimize the garbage in the barangay and to raise awareness.
-
Include the objectives of the program.
-
Create a useful material out of recyclable materials.
