Ecosystem

Title: Let’s act it real

Goal: The students will be able to establish understanding in protecting and conserving our ecosystem

Covered Competencies:

  • identifies what are the human activities that destroys the ecosystem; and

  • applies their knowledge of how to interact among living and non-living things in a real life situations;

You are a chairperson of a private environmentalist group in the Philippines. You noticed how our country’s nature is rich in nurturing plants and animals to boost our interactions with them. But as time passes by, you realized that the nature is beginning to fall as many human activities slowly harms several plants and animals. You remembered the key factors when your teacher in elementary taught about interactions among living things. What can you do about protection and conservation of ecosystems that serve as nurseries, breeding places, and habitats for economically important plants and animals? Group your class into 2 and make a diorama of your plans that will represent your actions to certain human activities and what can you do about our plants and animals! Prepare it to present in the class!

Here is an example of a Diorama:

Your Diorama should contain the following:

  • The theme can either be in the land, air or water (you can freely choose what your group would like!)

  • Your group’s output must contain at least 5 human activities and not more than 8. Each human activity should have your corresponding action to prevent it to destroy the ecosystem.

  • Each relevant information should be labeled. For example you include a human cutting trees in your diorama. That action should be labeled properly. Same with the solution to that action.
