Title: PNU-ITL’s FINEST MASTER CHEF

Goal: The students demonstrate understanding of Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers and connect it in real-life situations.

Covered Competencies:

  1. Identifies Proper Fractions, Improper Fractions and Mixed Numbers.

  2. Changes Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers.

The class will be divided into 5 groups with 6 members each.

Task: Your class owns bakery. The Principal wants you to prepare a mini-dessert meryendas for your 30 teachers. Each group has an assigned menu to bake for the teachers.

Group 1. CUPCAKES

Group 2. BROWNIES

Group 3. MUNCHKINS

Group 4. COOKIES

Group 5. LOAF BREAD

 

The students will have to:

(In each menu, there is a given measurement for each ingredient. However most of it is in a form of Improper Fraction)

  1. Convert it to Improper Fraction for an accurate measurement to deliver a tasty food.

  2. After converting the measurement, your group can proceed to baking.

  3. The students will bake the recipe that is assigned to them.

  4. The students will follow the converted measurement of the ingredients.
