Title: Cooking Dash!

Goal: The students should be able to demonstrate the understanding of interpreting data and presenting them in a line graph

Covered Competencies:

  • records gathered data;

  • applies knowledge about how to present data using graphs; and

  • creates line graph that represent the data they have gathered.

Christmas is near! Every year you had fun time with your classmates during the party to celebrate the occasion. There is one segment you are all been waiting for: EXCHANGE GIFTS! Your teacher reminds your class to prepare your gift as you still have 1 month before the celebration. As your classmates are special to you, you want to buy all of them a gift by saving money before the Christmas party. How much do you need in order to give gifts to your classmates? Record the amount you need and how much can you save per day! Since you are going to present how much can you save per day, what can you do to easily present your data? Use the right tool to represent it and show it to the class!

Where will I put my data?

  • You can record first your data on any sheet of paper but you will put your complete data on a cartolina or manila paper (you choose between the two!) same with the graph that you will create for your presentation.

  • Take note:

  • Make sure any information written on the cartolina or manila paper is readable until the back portion of the classroom

  • Your output should include your main goal budget and how much have you save every day until the end of month

their data in a way it is easily understand by the class (can be in tally form, table, etc. the data is not in paragraph form)
