Title: The Weather Reporters

Goal: The learners should be able to demonstrate understanding of the components of weather using simple instruments and realize the importance of using it in daily lives.

​

Covered Competencies:

​

1. Explain the use of weather instruments to measure the different weather components;

2. Record in a chart the weather conditions;

3. Make simple interpretations about the weather as recorded in the weather chart; and

4. Identify safety precautions during different weather conditions.

​

Mechanics:

• As a part of the society, the students will be given a task to investigate and report the situation of the community particularly in Barangay Ususan.

• They will make an investigation about the weather happening in that area by using self-made weather instruments. They will record in a chart the weather conditions and make simple interpretations about the weather as recorded in the weather chart.

• After investigating, they will collect the information that they’ve gathered and give some safety precautions during different weather conditions.

• They will present a written report which will promote awareness about the importance of using weather instruments.

• They can group themselves into 5 or a group with 6 members. The students are given 1 week to prepare the written report.

 

Task: (for the students)

As a part of the society, you are given a task to become an investigator. You need to investigate and report the situation of the community particularly in Barangay Ususan. You need to make an investigation about the weather happening in that area by using weather instruments. You will record in a chart the weather conditions and make simple interpretations about the weather as recorded in the weather chart.

After investigating, you will collect all the information that you have gathered and present a written report that will promote awareness about the importance of using weather instruments. You can group yourselves into 5 or a group with 6 members. You are given 1 week to prepare the written report.

 

The written report consists of the following:

1. Introduction

2. Weather Chart with Observations

3. Safety Precautions during different weather conditions

4. Insights/Reflection

5. Documentation with Pictures
