Topic: Animals live on Water and Land

Grade 4, Quarter 2nd

Goal: The students demonstrate mastery on categorizing animals that live on land or in water and know they adapt with their environment.

Objectives:

At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:

  1. Identify animals that live on water and land.

  2. Know the difference of body structures between animals live on land and water.

  3. Design a habitat that is suitable for the animals live on water and land.

Materials

Projected and Non-Projected Media, Pictures, Tape and Blackboard

Lesson Procedure

  • Each student will give an example of an animal they see either in water or land.

  • The teacher will list it down in the blackboard.

  • The teacher will start the discussion.

  • The teacher will show a short video of animals live on water and land.

  • The students will say what they observe in the body structures of animals live on water and land.

  • The class will have an activity. They will form a group of 4.

  • The teacher will give pieces of puzzle per group.

  • The class will show a picture through a given pieces of puzzle.

  • An illustration of animal live on water and land will be formed.

  • Together with the teacher, they will label its body parts.

  • The teacher will proceed to the discussion differentiating body structures of animals live on water and land.

  • The teacher will discuss how a certain body part of an animal make them adapt to their habitat.

  • The class will pick one to three animals from the given examples written on the board earlier.

  • The teacher will call one to three students to classify what are its body structures and how it adapt to its habitat.

  • The teacher will synthesize the student’s answers.

  • The teacher will review the lesson.

  • The teacher will discuss the performance task.
