Topic: Statistics (Line Graph)
Grade 5 (4th Quarter)
Goal: The students should be able to demonstrate understanding of line graph in real life situations
Objectives:
At the end of the session, the students should be able to:

create a line graph using the data gathered
Materials:
LCD projector, pen, paper, handouts, manila paper, tape, jumping rope

Motivation:

The class will be divided into 4.
-
Each group will have a jumping rope.
-
Every member of the group will play the jumping rope within a minute.

Each group should record and fill out the information below.
Names How many jumps in 1 minute?
5. After 5 minutes, each group will present what have they recorded.
Lesson Procedure:

The teacher will define what is a line graph
-
The teacher will ask the class what is the main characteristics of a line graph based on the two pictures
3. Using the second picture, the teacher will introduce the parts of a line graph and will call on students who will describe each of it.
4. The teacher will discuss the steps in making a line graph.
5. With the same grouping in the motivational activity, each group will create a line graph based on the data they have gathered within 5-8 minutes.
6. After 8 minutes, each group will present their work.
