Title: Identifying Parallel, Intersecting, and Perpendicular Lines
Grade 4, 2nd Quarter
Goal: The learners should be able to solve routine and non-routine word problems involving division of 3- to 4-digit numbers by 1- to 2-digit numbers including money using appropriate problem-solving strategies and tools.
Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:

draw perpendicular and parallel lines using a ruler and a set square
Motivation:
Say: Picture yourselves in front of the flagpole forming lines for the flag raising ceremony. How should you form your lines? Relate the value of orderliness in forming their lines during flag ceremony.
Lesson Procedure:
Let the students form different kinds of lines depending on the instructions given
a. Group 1- form 2 straight lines
b. Group 2- form 2 lines that meet on the center
c. Group 3- form 2 lines that show square corners
Say: You’ve just played “Forming Lines”
The illustrations on the board show the lines that you formed.
